Which assets can I load?

BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC and Monero (XMR). USDT rides your choice of Tron (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20) or Solana, and we surface the deposit address and network explicitly at load time so nothing is sent into the void.

Is Monero (XMR) actually supported?

Yes — as a first-class funding asset alongside BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC and LTC. If on-chain privacy matters to you, fund with XMR.

How many confirmations before my balance is live?

Stablecoins and ETH are typically live within minutes. BTC counts one confirmation, XMR around ten minutes. Larger loads may wait one extra block — the dashboard shows the countdown, so you are never guessing.

Do you convert my crypto?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the loaded amount converts to card balance at a transparent rate shown before you send. No surprise spreads later, no second conversion at spend time.

What happens to unspent balance?

It stays on the card until you spend it. Treat loaded balances as spendable funds rather than deposits — load what you plan to use, top up again in minutes whenever you need more.

Which networks do the cards run on?

Visa and Mastercard, accepted at 100M+ merchants worldwide — online and in person. The network is assigned when your number is struck; every card is one of the two.

Apple Pay and Google Pay — really?

Accepted Answer

Yes — on the Aurora, the $50 wallet-ready cut. Provision it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in seconds and tap to pay contactless; device tokenization means the underlying number is never exposed at the terminal. The $25 Shadow is the same card everywhere else — same limits, same acceptance — it simply doesn't ride the phone wallets. One thing matters when you add a card: if the wallet asks where to send the verification code, choose Email, never SMS — the code appears in your dashboard. This card verifies by email, so an SMS code won't arrive and the add fails.

Will it work where other prepaid cards get declined?

That's exactly what it's built for. Real bank rails, built-in 3-D Secure and high limits mean Nocturne clears checkouts — paid ads, recurring subscriptions and high-ticket purchases — that block ordinary anonymous cards. Approvals, not declines.

Who's responsible for a payment — and what about chargebacks?

You are. 3-D Secure is built in: when a merchant triggers a check, the approval code lands on the card's own page in your dashboard, so you authorise each protected payment yourself. Because you hold that approval, the charges you make are yours — treat a loaded balance as cash you've spent, not a deposit you can recall. Nocturne can't reverse or charge back a payment a merchant has already captured; if an order is wrong or undelivered, you settle it with the merchant directly, the same as with any card. Keep your number, CVV and codes private — anything cleared with them is your transaction.

Where does it not work?

Sanctioned and prohibited jurisdictions, and a short list of merchant categories barred by network rules. Everywhere else — about 100M+ merchants online and in person — it behaves like any premium Visa or Mastercard.

Is there a foreign-currency fee?

Accepted Answer

Spend in USD and there is none. EUR purchases also clear at 0%. Other currencies carry a flat ~1% conversion — the card network's own rate, passed through at cost with no markup from us, applied when the charge settles (a day or two after purchase). No hidden spread, ever.

What if a merchant or service declines the card?

A few merchants screen by card type, country, or their own internal risk rules and may turn a card away — that's their acceptance policy, not a fault in the card, and it sits outside our control, so we can't be liable for any one store's decision. If a charge won't go through, retry over a residential connection in the card's billing country (below), enter the card details directly rather than through a stored wallet, or simply spend it elsewhere — acceptance runs to 100M+ merchants.

Should I use a particular connection when I pay?

For the smoothest acceptance, check out over a clean residential connection in the card's billing country — a residential proxy or local IP rather than a flagged datacentre or shared VPN exit. It makes the purchase read as what it is: a normal local transaction. If a payment is soft-declined, switching to a residential IP in-country and retrying once clears the large majority of them.

I'm in Russia or the CIS — will it work?

The dashboard and the card work worldwide for lawful spend, but some networks across Russia and parts of the CIS sit behind regional filtering. If the site or a checkout page won't load, connect through a VPN or residential proxy in a supported region first — that only changes how you reach us, never the card itself. Cards remain unavailable for use in sanctioned jurisdictions.

Can I replace a card if Apple Pay or Google Pay won't link?

Yes. If an Aurora genuinely can't be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay after the usual fixes — choosing email (not SMS) for the verification code and retrying on a residential connection — we'll replace it. Replacement covers wallet-linking faults specifically; a healthy card that a single merchant happens to decline isn't a card fault, so it isn't grounds for a replacement. Message the desk from your dashboard and we'll sort it.

How long is a card valid?

At least three years from the night it's minted — the exact expiry rides the card details you see at reveal, and we email you before it lapses. The card retires itself on the date, sweeping anything left back to your balance; mint a fresh card any time. Keeping a card also asks for light activity — $29 a month — so an idle slot isn't held out of use; leave one untouched for two months and it's reclaimed and reissued fresh, with any balance returned first.

What do you actually store?

A funding transaction, an optional email, and an encrypted card vault. No legal name, no documents, no address, no biometrics. The privacy pledge on the landing page is the literal inventory of our database.

We comply with valid legal process — and the file would be nearly empty. There is no identity dossier, no documents, no selfies: you cannot disclose what was never collected. That is the point of the architecture.

Nocturne is a privacy-first payment product for lawful use only. Cards are not available in sanctioned or prohibited jurisdictions, and using them for illegal activity is strictly against our terms. Privacy is a right; crime is not.

Always. The dashboard desk lives behind your session, Telegram runs end-to-end encrypted, and plain email works when speed matters more than ceremony. Whatever the channel, the desk never asks for card numbers or codes — sensitive details stay in your dashboard.

What are the limits?

Spend up to $30,000 per day and $600,000 per calendar month — the same for everyone, and identical on both cuts: Shadow and Aurora wear the same ceilings with no ramp-up period. A card carries up to $150,000 at a time, loaded from your balance in seconds. The monthly ceiling can be lifted on request. Per-transaction limits depend on merchant and network rules.

What does it cost, all-in?

The mint is $25 for the Shadow or $50 for the Aurora (adds Apple Pay, Google Pay and tap) — same ceilings, same acceptance on both. Deposits cost 0.49% — a thin network fee, every asset. The heavier fee comes only when you move balance onto a card: 5% standard, 4.5% once a month of loads clears $3,000, 4% from $10,000. Spending is a flat 30¢ per payment — never a percentage — and monthly and hidden fees are $0. The pricing page shows the entire ledger.

How do the volume rates work?

They follow your card loads inside a calendar month and apply themselves automatically — starting with the very load that crosses the line. Move $3,000 onto cards and you're already at 4.5%; clear $10,000 and you sit at 4%. No forms, no review, nothing to request.

Is there anything I can't pay for with it?

It's a real card on real rails, so the card networks' and issuer's acceptable-use rules apply on top of the law. A card is for ordinary personal spending — it can't fund unlawful activity, and it isn't a way to move cash: cash advances, ATM withdrawals, money orders, gift cards, peer-to-peer transfers and buying crypto can decline and earn no rewards. A few lawful categories — exchanges and money-service businesses, gambling, pooled-investment vehicles, licensed regulated substances — may need extra review or simply won't authorise. What if I lose access?

Email accounts reset by emailed code. Token accounts restore from their twelve-word phrase — issued when you join, stored only by you. Because we hold no identity, there is no "verify yourself to support" reset path: that trade-off is deliberate, and it is what makes your account impossible to socially engineer.

The honest answer: the attacker finds very little. Card details are encrypted and shown once, balances live in isolated channels, and there is no KYC dossier to exfiltrate. We cannot leak what we never asked for.
